Sunflowers!! I am so stoked about the sunflowers. I went to check on them before we left and saw a couple weird-looking bugs. I captured & killed one and meant to id it before we left for vacation. That didn't happen and we came home to our single sunflower pretty much maimed. There were these crazy bugs just hanging out on them. I researched them and found out they're called leaf-footed beatles (or leaf-footed bugs ... not sure). People report they're pretty hard to kill, so I resorted to the big guns. I used a can of OFF! for the yard. It's supposed to kill mosquitos & flies and all sorts of bugs. I think it worked because I haven't seen the bugs again and I have some goooooorgeous sunflowers right now! (Full confrontation: it totally scarred the leaves it touched though.)
